RECOVERY OF ARREARS ON MACP TO IN-ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES KEPT IN ABEYANCE

The matter pertaining to recovery of MACP arrears granted to in-eligible employees is referred to Ministry of I & B and DOPT by Prasar Bharati keeping the earlier orders for recovery in abeyance. However, it goes without saying that the wrong fixations are to be revised forthwith to avoid accumulation of recoveries. It is observed that unity of command is lacking between Prasar Bharati secretariat and Directorates as it is evident from the two different  instructions on the same issue by PB Secretariat and Directorates.  It is not clear what pressures made the PB Secretariat to refer the matter again to Ministry and DOPT  inspite of the fact that the benefit of MACPs has been extended to in-eligible employees in the light of instructions issued by DOPT.
